Despite what alot of people think, God (Father, Word, and Spirit) isn't late or sluggish with delivering what He (God) promises to do. He (God) is very patient toward everyone. He (God) doesn't want anyone to die and go to Hell. He wants everyone to turn from their sin, receive Him, and be rescued from Hell. This verse rebukes some of the teachings of Augustine of Hippo, John Calvin, and Ulrich Zwingli. 3:9
